| Item Description | An anonymous compendium of al-Shadhili (died 709/1309), al-Tanwir fi isqat al-tadbir التنوير في إسقاط التدبير . On this mystical text of al-Shadhili see GAL II 118 and S II 145. Our compendium is more extensive than the anonymous compendium in ms. Berlin 3090/1 (not mentioned in GAL). As a comparison with the Cairo edition of 1973 (by MUSA MUHAMMAD ALI موسى محمد علي and ABBAD AL-AL AHMAD AL-IRABI عباد العال أحمد العرابي ) shows, the compendium in our ms. (copied 984/1577) has many variants which sometimes offer better readings. The chapter-headings are written in red ink. |
